Nelson Mandela was freed

With his freedom one of the biggest symbols of Apartheid's reign was shattered. 

Nobel laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu exhorted South Africans to use the day to remember the long road the country had travelled since 

(AFP February 11, 2010). 

 Tutu was also quoted as saying though a lot had been achieved, 
there was still more to be done. 

With every victory comes the work of maintaining the gift bestowed.
