Time takes its toll...

Have I become a soul so numb
All too familiar

Words of gold have all grown cold

Over and over
I need to see you in the sunrise

Time takes its toll on us

And it tries its best just to steal our love

And we bend and we break but we don’t give up

Time takes its toll on us

From the start you touched my heart

And turned it in to something more
Beautiful,
you’re beautiful

So why does it have to be so hard

To see you in the sunrise

Time takes,
time takes away

Love remains,
love remains

Really an emotional expression. But, how realistic…or at least… to what extent could we personalize this in our inner mind/man….? I am a poor analyzer of poems and/or idiomatic expressions………. Forgive my ignorance!

:) Well first off, the fact that you identified it as a poem shows that you are not so bad... Although it is not a poem (its a song by one of my favourite musicians), he (Bebo Norman) expresses the journey we take in life, as Christians, through song, and to me, his lyrics are very poetic... But anyway, it represents what I am feeling now, so that is how I personalize it!

Okay!
(Never been to literature class in my entire life
…actually, there was no opportunity for (doing) that)
Sounds good you know.
Wish you well then.
I’ll try finding a way
Or create one
To personalize such a lyrical song myself.
It helps a lot…I think.
And…
Thank you very much.
