Today I watched the sun come down
And she was glorious in her descent
At first hidden by her ever watching chaperones
But all at once released from their guarding presence
Free to return to her resting place
But not without a reminder of her magnificence
Her flare streaks across the ocean
A determined path among restless waves
And as she lays her head to rest
Her garment flows in the sky
Thrills of fire, copper and gold mingle in
to form her flowing train
Today I watched the sun come down
A reminder that after a hard days work of shine
Even she must lay her head down to rest...
